To welcome their community back to campus after the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Rooftop School in San Francisco held a family art night and hosted me as guest artist. Following the prompt, "Art is Healing," I created a colorful palette on which the kids could express their feelings with tape. Working with tape is immediate and gave the kids a way to create intuitively and collaboratively. This project exemplified the thing I love most about art — under the right conditions, creative expression just pours out of people like it's the most natural thing in the world.
